THE STUDIO

Founded in 2013, Polanco Designs is a full service interior design firm working with both commercial and residential clients.

We create environments that blur the lines between interior design, architecture, and landscape design to achieve a cohesive aesthetic, flow, and support of each project's needs and goals.

A comprehensive understanding of building structures and systems allow us to look beyond the easy answers and explore more creative solutions to design problems, while maintaining a sense of practicality.

This knowledge gives us the ability to collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, and trades, while always advocating in the best interest of the client and the project needs.

MARCO POLANCO

Marco is the founder of Polanco Designs and has been a professional designer for over 15 years.  He leads the design vision of every project in the firm and approaches each project with the same focus. His experience ranges from corporate interiors, creative firms, and large scale residential projects.  Marco creates design solutions that support the project and client’s needs, empathetic to the end user and navigating the space and mood that the environment elicits.

With a desire to learn from his clients and to share his thoughts on the design process, Marco’s chief philosophy is that design, not unlike life, is a symbiotic relationship, based on mutual respect. He believes our most valuable resource is people and everyone has something to offer, be it information, skills, or a specific point of view.  When everyone is able to contribute, the end project is much richer and better informed.

Marco remains involved in the design community, sharing his knowledge through volunteer and mentoring opportunities.  As co-chair for the AIA-LA, he was able to provide scholarships to design students, fostering collaboration and exposing new talent to all phases of the design process.  Marco is a graduate of Woodbury University and has a Bachelors of Science in Interior Architecture, where he remains involved, providing mentoring and critiquing student projects.
